The Iberian Chapter of the World Anti-Aging Academy of Medicine (A4M Iberia) is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Congress on Anti-Aging Medicine and Biomedical Technologies

In the 21st century, our patients no longer have to accept that the slowing down of physical or mental functions is a result of aging. The philosophy behind anti-aging medicine is founded on the principles of prevention. Patient care management is based on an integrative medical approach, a philosophy born out of the success of sports medicine, with a proactive approach to creating and maintaining optimum health with what we call the five pillars of anti-aging – aesthetics, nutrition, physical exercise, hormone optimization, and genetics.

This year’s scientific program has been designed to encompass multi-disciplinary and complementary areas of anti-aging and functional medicine. Topics include new frontiers in cosmetic medicine, hormones and their impact on the aging process, compounding pharmaceuticals in anti-aging medicine and skincare, genes and diet, testosterone in treating diabetes and heart disease, as well as the latest research in genomics.

Our last congress in May 2008 had an overwhelming attendance of 974 participants: 521 delegates, 289 independent exhibitors and their guests, 66 internationally renowned speakers, 68 members of the media and 10 guests of honor.

A4M Iberia is the undisputed main international congress for the fusion of both aspects of the prevention and the treatment of aging, with respect to both internal and external aging processes. Join us at our next A4M Iberia congress in June 2009!

Prof. Eduardo Franco

Prof. Eduardo Franco, Ph.D., recipient of the Warwick Prize, to present his research into cervical cancer at A4M Iberia 2009 congress. Prof Franco is internationally recognized for his many contributions in the field of Cancer Prevention, his research into cervical cancer has led to major advances in our understanding of how to detect and prevent the disease. In 2004, he collaborated with U.S. and Brazilian researchers on a clinical trial to test a new vaccine that could cut cervical cancer rates dramatically.
