Dr. Carlos Manuel Tavares Aguiar graduated in Medicine in 1993 and completed his training in Cardiology in 2002. He currently works at Hospital Santa Cruz (Carnaxide, Portugal) as a staff member of the Coronary Care Unit and the Advanced Heart Failure Clinic. In 2005 he was appointed advisor to the National Director for Cardiovascular Disease. He was elected Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology in 2006 and Chairman of the Working Group on Acute Cardiac Care of the Portuguese Society of Cardiology for 2007-2009. His research in acute coronary heart disease has received several scientific awards from the Portuguese Society of Cardiology. He was invested into the Order of Merit by the President of the Portuguese Republic in 2005.

Dr Themudo Barata is a Medical Doctor since 1978, graduated in Lisbon Medical School. He is a senior specialist in Internal Medicine and Sports Medicine. His main interests as a doctor are Exercise Science, Obesity and Nutrition. After completing his hospital training program in Internal Medicine he moved to the University of Texas at Austin, in the US to follow a program in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition. After coming back in 1992 he did is Mastership thesis in the Body Composition field. Since 1992 until 2001 he has worked on the clinical ground of exercise prescription to obese, diabetic or cardiac patients I several gyms and clinics, and also as a Sports Medicine specialist, in the fields on nutritional advising and Exercise Physiology evaluation of professional athletes in Sporting Club de Portugal and other clubs. Since 2001 he moved to his PhD program in the Exercise and Health Laboratory of the Sports Science University of Lisbon “Faculdade de Motricidade Humana”, where he has been medical director of the PESO program, a behavioral, nutritional and exercise weight loss program. His research interests have been first in body composition and later in exercise prescription for obesity and Metabolic Syndrome, in which field he completed his PhD thesis in 2006. After 2004 he is director of the first Portuguese hospital medical department of Nutrition and Physical Activity in Centro Hospitalar da Cova da Beira, and professor at the University of Beira Interior where he teaches Exercise Physiology in Sports Science School and Nutrition and Physical Activity for doctors in the Medical School. He also has private clinical practice as a obesity specialist. At the present time he his also the responsible of the Health Control, obesity and Nutrition Consultation of the “Heart Institute (Instituto do CoraÁ„o)” in Lisbon, and runs private clinical activity in the Obesity and weight control, nutritional and exercise advising fields to healthy people and patients. He has published several papers, 5 books on medical and exercise physiology issues and regularly promotes Health Education initiatives in the Portuguese media.

Pedro Bastos, B.A., member of the New York Academy of Sciences and the Life Extension Foundation, is currently finishing his Master degree in Nutrition and Dietetics through FUNIBER (“Fundación Universitaria Ibero-Americana”), and his thesis main focus is on Diet’s Net Acid Load. He has a Post-graduate degree in Exercise and Health from ESDRM (School of Sport Science of Rio Maior, Portugal), where he studied the role of Exercise in Abdominal Organ Transplant Receivers and obtained a specialization degree in Personal Training. He also received a Strength and Conditioning Instructor Certification from CEF (“Centro de Estudos Fitness”), a Portuguese Fitness School. Since 2005, he lectures at conventions, symposiums and conferences on topics related to Nutrition, Health and Performance, such as "Fats and cholesterol – the scientific truth", "Glycemic Load and chronic disease prevention", "Nutrition for sports performance", "Nutritional influences in Rheumatoid Arthritis", "Nutrition to prevent Sarcopenia", "Green Tea polyphenols and Cancer" and "A scientific review of popular fat loss supplements". On July, 2007, he was a speaker at the 3rd International Congress on Functional Clinical Nutrition (lecture title: “Milk and biochemical individuality”), and the 2nd Brazilian congress on Functional Sports Nutrition (lectures titles: “Omega 3 fatty acids, Exercise and Inflammation”, “Net Endogenous Acid Production and Performance”), both held in S. Paulo, Brazil. Presently, he’s a professor at CEF, serves as a nutritional consultant for GenoSolutions, “VP Consultoria Nutricional” (Brazil), “Sporting Clube de Portugal”, “Clube de Saúde dos Olivais”, “Clínica das Conchas” and Tavares Wellness Solutions, and is a member of the editorial board of a brazilian technical nutrition journal (“Nutrição, Saúde & Performance”).

Dr. Alfredo Belzuzarri, born in Perú,  is the medical director and founder of the "Clínica la Fuente de la Juventud" http://www.hghantiaging.com in Marbella, Spain. He is a member of the Colegio de Médicos de Madrid with the number 13,197 since 1965. In 1978 he returned to the Peruvian Amazonia to broaden his knowledge on traditional medicine. Manuel Diamantino Pires Bicho, M.D., Ph.D, was born in Mozambique and graduated from the School of  Medicine at the University of Lisbon (MD) in 1975. Dr Bicho also holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Physiology granted by the same university in 1985. He was appointed as an Associate Professor in 1990 and as a Full Professor of Genetics in 2004 at then School of Medicine at University of Lisbon. He is a fellow of American Heart Association. Prof. Dr. André Luís Borba obtained his Medical Degree from de Faculty of Medicine of the University Estadual Paulista in São Paulo, Brazil in 1994. Stanislaw R. Burzynski, M.D., Ph.D. graduated with honors from Medical Academy in Lublin, Poland, and received his M.D. degree in 1967.  Subsequently, in 1968 he earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry.  He did his internship and residency from 1967 to 1970.  From October 1970 to 1977 he was employed by Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, initially as a Research Associate and later as Assistant Professor.  While at Baylor, Dr. Burzynski’s research was sponsored and partially funded by the National Cancer Institute.  Doctors associated with M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center also cooperated in this research.  On July 1, 1977, Dr. Burzynski resigned from Baylor College of Medicine and established Burzynski Research Laboratories.  Over a number of years the company expanded to Burzynski Research Institute, Burzynski Clinic, and Pharmaceutical Plant.  Dr. Burzynski serves as the President and Chairman of the Board of the Institute, and is the owner of the clinic and pharmaceutical plant.  Dr. Burzynski is the discoverer of antineoplastons, which are components of biochemical defense against cancer.  He is also the discoverer of new treatments for cancer, viral infections including AIDS, autoimmune diseases, Parkinson’s disease, neurofibromatosis, and restenosis and is the author of a new theory of aging.  Among his contributions are over 257 patents covering 42 countries, and over 243 scientific publications.  He is a member of numerous professional organizations.

Prof. Mauricio de Arruda Campos is a professor of kinesiology and biomechanics applied to weight training and health at post graduation courses in many faculties of physical education in Brazil. Currently he works on the Education and Research Committee from the International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness (IFBB) in Madrid, Spain. He is the author of the books “Functional Training”, “Biomechanics of Weight Training”, “Abdominal Exercises: a Practical and Scientific Approach” and “Weight training for Obesity, Osteoporosis, Diabetes, Children and the Elderly”.

Dr. Francisco Campos, M.D., is an accredited specialist in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery by Ordem dos Médicos (Portugal). During 8 years of his professional life, he has completed internships at Baragwanath Hospital, Witwaterstrand (Johannesburg), Louisville University, Kentucky (USA), Viana University of Austria, 7a division of plastic surgery (Austria), Hospital da Santa Casa da Mesericórdia, Rio do Janeiro (Brazil), at Porto’s S. Dr. Manuel Neves e Castro is a specialist in Gynecology and Endocrinology. Dr. Neves e Castro is the holder of the Jean Claude Rousssel Award (Brazil) and the Campos da Paz Award on Menopause (Brazil).

Prof. Dr. João Pedro Gorjão Clara graduated in medicine from the University of Lisbon in 1970 and obtianed his Ph.D. from the same university in 1990.  In 1998, he was appointed aggregate professor by the Faculty of Medical Science of Nova University in Lisbon.  He is currently Director of Internal Medicine  and a cardiologist consultant for the Pulido Valente Hospital in Lisbon. Dr Gorjão Clara is the winner of 7 awards, four of which were for medical investigation, including  the 1994 prize of “GRANDE PRÉMIO BIAL DE MEDICINA CLÍNICA” for his work in “High Blood Pressure in the Elderly”, and the prize “NUNES CORREA VERDADES DE FARIA” for his work in “Progress in medicine in the geriatric field”. Dr Gorjão Clara is the author and co-author of 327 scientific papers published in medical journals, both in Portugal and abroad. He is the coordinator of the  “GRUPO DE CARDIOLOGIA GERIATRICA” for the Portuguese Society of Cardiology, and is also the director of the stroke unit at the Hospital Pulido Valente, and the founder and co-ordinator of the “ GRUPO DE INVESTIGAÇÃO E TRATAMENTO DO DOENTE IDOSO”. Dr Gorjão Clara is a European specialist in  Hypertension, and  is the vice-president of the “PROFESSOR FERNANDO DE PÁDUA FOUNDATION”, as well as an advisor to the “INSTITUTO NACIONAL DE MEDICINA LEGAL”. Prof.  Dr Gorjão Clara is a fellow of the European Union Geriatric Medicine Society.

Prof. Dr. Alvaro Macieira-Coelho, M.D., Ph.D. obtained his Medical Degree from de Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon and went on to pursue a medical internship at the University Hospital of Santa Maria. He spent three years as a Research Associate at the Wistar Institute of the University of Pennsylvania (USA) and another three years also as a Research Associate at the Department of Pathology of the University of Uppsala (Sweden) where he received a PhD. He was then invited to be the Head of the Department of Cell Pathology at the Institute of Cancer and Immunogenetics in Villejuif (France) and he was appointed Research Director at the French National Institute of Health (INSERM). From 1986 to 1989 he was invited to be a Visiting Professor at the University of Linköping (Sweden) and received a Doctor Honoris Causa from this University. In 1990 he was appointed head of the Laboratory for Aging Research at the University of Paris VI. He retired in 1997 from the position of Research Director at INSERM. He is the recipient of the Fritz Verzàr Prize of the University of Vienna (Austria) and of the Johananoff International Visiting Professorship of the Mario Negri Institute (Milano, Italy). Carla Costa has a BSc degree in Genetics and Microbiology from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (1998). She holds a PhD in Human Biology from the Faculty of Medicine of Porto, since 2005. Her doctoral studies, in the field of angiogenesis and cancer, were performed at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, in New York, in collaboration with the Institute of Pathology and Molecular Immunology of the University of Porto (IPATIMUP). Her doctoral thesis was awarded as best PhD thesis of 2005, by the Portuguese Institute of Clinical Genetics (IGM). In the same year, she received a Marie Currie Travel Grant Award, to participate in the Sixth Interdisciplinary Euroconference on Angiogenesis, in Cannes. Still in 2005, she initiated her Post-Doctoral studies at the Faculty of Medicine of Porto, where she also has an appointment as Invited Professor of Cell and Molecular Biology. Her Post-Graduated research, in the field of erectile dysfunction, focus on evaluating angiogenic molecular alterations in erectile tissue of aged and diabetic individuals. Additionally, specific cell therapy for cavernosal revascularization in diabetics is also under her scope. As a Post-Doctoral researcher she has received two awards; one by the Portuguese Society of Andrology, in 2006 and the other in 2007 by the Spanish Association of Andrology. Cláudia Henriqueta Rita Marinho Valente Coutinho has a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Lisbon and also holds a PhD in Clinical and Pharmacological Biochemistry granted in 2002 by the same University in the domain of Parkinson’s disease pathophysiology and nervous system degenerescence. Since 1991 she develops several projects at the Centre of Metabolism and Endocrinology of Lisbon School of Medicine, namely in the areas of biochemical and molecular genetics in metabolism and oxidative stress. Dr Marinho is currently Invited Professor of Lisbon School of Medicine and her scientific interests are Genetic polymorphisms of antioxidant enzymes: association genotype/phenotype; Biochemical and molecular ecogenetics of cardiovascular disease, obesity and cancer; Genetic factors of susceptibility for hepatitis C viral infection; Oxidative stress and acute phase proteins; Glutathione metabolism and signal transduction. She also works in collaboration with the ATRAL Labs in the research and development of new antioxidant and cardiovascular therapeutical drugs. Dr. T. Michael Culp, M.A., N.D. is currently the Director and Chief Medical Officer of Integrative Health Solutions, Ltd, in London, England, an innovative multi-disciplinary medical clinic specializing in the treatment of chronic diseases. Always interested in orthopedics, he recived is formation in the Orthopedic Hospital of Santana,Parede,Portugal,where he has been working for the last 22 years as orthopaedic surgean. His main work has been in the area of hip and knee replacement, with particular interest in elderly patients, developing and increasing minimal invasive systems. Dr. Vitor Manuel Figueiredo was born in 1974 and was graduated from the School of Medicine in Coimbra, Portugal. He always has been interested in Aesthetic Medicine and received his formation in Spain, France, England, Brazil and Portugal. Currently Dr Figueiredo is in exclusive private practice at Clinic Milénio, in Lisbon, where he is responsible for the Aesthetic Medicine unity. The main fields in which he works are: botulinun toxin, fillers, lipofilling, peelings, biostimulation, applications of platelet rich plasma for rejuvenation and reparation, mesotherapy, laser, intense pulsed light, radiofrequency, carboxiterapy, microdermabrasion, endermology, electrophoresis, ultrasounds and cosmetology. Dr. Robert M. Goldman is the chairman of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine(A4M). He has spearheaded the development of numerous international medical organizations and corporations. Robert Goldman. M.D., Ph.D., D.O., FAASP has served as a Senior Fellow at the Lincoln Filene Center, Tufts University, and as an Affiliate at the Philosophy of Education Research Center, Graduate School of Education, Harvard University. Dr. Goldman is a Clinical Consultant, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Korea Medical University. He also serves as Professor, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Central America Health Sciences (Belize). In addition, Goldman presently holds the position of Visiting Professor at Udayana Medical University (Indonesia). Dr. Goldman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Sports Physicians and a Board Diplomat in Sports Medicine and Board Certified in Anti-Aging Medicine.
Dr. Goldman received his Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) from Brooklyn College in New York, then conducted three years of independent research in steroid biochemistry and attended the State University of New York. He received the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree from the Central America Health Sciences University, School of Medicine in Belize, a government-sanctioned, Ministry of Health-approved, and World Health Organization-listed medical university. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery (D.O.) degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at MidWestern University. His Ph.D. work was in the field of androgenic anabolic steroid biochemistry.
He co-founded and serves as Chairman of the Board of Life Science Holdings, a biomedical research company with over 150 medical patents under development in the areas of brain resuscitation, trauma and emergency medicine, organ transplant and blood preservation technologies. He has overseen cooperative research agreement development programs in conjunction with such prominent institutions as the American National Red Cross, the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Department of Defense, and the FDA's Center for Devices Radiological Health. Dr. Goldman is the recipient of the 'Gold Medal for Science (1993), the Grand Prize for Medicine (1994), the Humanitarian Award (1995), and the Business Development Award (1996).
During the late l990s, Dr. Goldman received honors from Minister of Sports and government Health officials of numerous nations. In 2001, Excellency Juan Antonio Samaranch awarded Dr. Goldman the International Olympic Committee Tribute Diploma for contributions to the development of sport Olympism. In addition, Dr. Goldman is a black belt in karate, Chinese weapons expert, and world champion athlete with over 20 world strength records, he has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. Some of his past performance records include 13,500 consecutive situps and 321 consecutive handstand pushups.
Dr. Goldman was an All-College athlete in four sports, a three time winner of the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Physical Fitness Award, was voted Athlete of the Year, was the recipient of the Champions Award, and was inducted into the World Hall of Fame of Physical Fitness. In 1995, Dr. Goldman was awarded the Healthy American Fitness Leader Award from the President's Council on Physical Fitness Sports and U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Goldman is Chairman of the International Medical Commission overseeing sports medicine committees in over 176 nations. He has served as a Special Advisor to the President's Council on Physical Fitness Sports. He is founder and international President Emeritis of the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the cofounder and Chairman of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). Dr. Goldman visits an average of 20 countries annually to promote brain research and sports medicine programs.

Bernd Kleine-Gunk has received his medical degree at the University of Essen in 1984. He is Board Certified in Gynecology and holds a special qualification in nutritional medicine. Since 1994 he is Head of Department of Gynecology at the Euromed Clinic, Fürth – Germany´s biggest private hospital. Member of the Advisary Board of the German Society of Anti Aging Medicine (GSAAM). Founding Member of the European Centre of Aging Research and Education (ECARE). Editor of the magazine AAM (Zeitschrift für Altern-Ästhetische Präventiv-Medizin). Publisher of a German Textbook on Anti-Aging-Medicine (Anti-Aging - moderne medizinische Konzepte, Bremen 2003). Numerous articles and lectures on age-related topics with an emphasis on nutritional and endocrinological aspects.

Prof. Ionescu is the Scientific Director and founder of the Spezialklinik Neukirchen, Bio-Data and Energy Cosmetic companies, located in 93453 Neukirchen, Germany. After graduation in biochemistry and immunology at the University of Bucharest, 1976 and a scientific fellowship in Montreal, Canada, he wandered to West-Germany and established there since 1980. He received his PhD in medical biochemistry 1983 from the University of Saarbrücken, Germany, and directed until 1985 the research programme of a dermatological clinic in Aschaffenburg. Main research areas included the atopic diseases, psoriasis, arthritis and the MCS-syndrome. Prof. Ionescu founded 1986 in Bavaria the Spezialklinik Neukirchen for the treatment of allergic, skin and environmental diseases according to the principles of the nutritional and environmental medicine. The original diagnostic and therapeutic approaches of his cortisone-, cytostatic- and radiation-free concept have been reported in more than 170 scientific publications in Germany, Europe and USA. Current work involves the investigation of biological redox and free radical reactions in skin, environmental and cancer patients. His research results are subjects of new methods for the rapid free radical and redox potential assessment in human blood samples, new dermatological formulations for the diseased and aging skin, patented anti-cancer drugs and original integrative protocols for the treatment of MCS, CFS and chronic dermatoses like atopic eczema and psoriasis. Prof. Ionescu is member of the European Academy for Allergology and Clinical Immunology, of the British Society for Allergy and Environmental Medicine, of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine and of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. Since August 1998 he was nominated as Professor for Applied Laboratory Medicine and Oxidology at the Capital University of Integrative Medicine, Washington, D.C. (USA).

Dr. Eugenio Luigi Iorio, MD, PhD, was graduated in 1987 from Medical School, Naples University, Italy, with highest marks “cum laude” and “dignity” to publish the dissertation on neurochemistry (“Role of polyamines in the Nervous Central System”). In the next years he completed the Post-Graduate School in Biochemical and Chemical Chemistry with highest marks “cum laude” and discussed a dissertation on the quality control significance in clinical chemistry. After that he reached the degree of PhD in Biochemical Sciences. In the first years of the scientific career he performed experimental studies on bacterial protein biosynthesis by producing an original t-RNA labelled at the 3’-end with a fluorescent probe. Subsequently he studied the platelet activating factor (PAF) metabolism in inflammatory cells demonstrating the activation of remodelling pathway in polymorfonuclear leukocytes, endothelial cells and mesangial cells after stimulation with bacterial porins. Some of these studies lead to the patent of an original method to detect and quantify alkyl-phospholids in biological fluids. Hence, he performed same trials on the relationships between mood disorders, endocrinology, immunology and nutrition. Very interesting are the studies on the proteoma of the Italian tomato “San Marzano” and on a inhibitor of pectin-methylesterase in kiwi fruit. All this scientific activity has been condensed in almost one hundred academic papers and one hundred communications in international congresses and symposia. After then years of teaching at the Medical School of Naples, four years ago, as an expertise of oxidative stress assessment, he was appointed as the President of the International Observatory of Oxidative Stress (Salerno, Italy), which main aim is to translate into the clinical practice the basic research in the field of free radicals and antioxidants (official web site www.oxidativestressobservatory.org). In particular, he actively participate to the development of some analytical systems for oxidative stress assessment in clinical routine (e. g. d-ROMs test of Carratelli). In this area, he was several times invited speaker in many scientific congresses not only in the European Union (Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Norway, Greece, Czeck Republic, etc.) but also in the United States (Hawaii), in Mexico, in Japan and in South Corea. In the May 2005 he gave a special award to the famous professor Kenneth H. Cooper from Dallas, Texas (the inventor of the “antioxidant revolution”). Dr. Eugenio Luigi Iorio is not only referee for some scientific journals and reviewer of some Italian magazines on health and wellness but also a member of the Italian Society of Biochemistry (SIB), the Italian Society of Laboratory Medicine (SIMEL), the Italian Association of Anti-Aging Medicine (AMIA) and honorary member of the Italian Association for the Kousmine Method (AMIK) and the Italian Association of Antiaging Pharmacists (AIFAN). Now, he is also chief of a biannual program of Continuous Education in Medicine, in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Health, focused on free radicals, antioxidants and oxidative stress in clinical practice. Current fields of interest in this year are the relationships among oxidant status, genomics and lipidomics. As an eclectic biochemist, he is an expertise on Italian typical products of the Mediterranean diet, like olive oil, tomatoes, and buffalo mozzarella cheese and the most known Italian scientist on traditional hand-made Italian pizza. Indeed, he headed, together the Italian pizzaiolo Mogavero, the research’s group who produced the first certified “genuine Neapolitan hand-made pizza”, according to the Italian Norm UNI 10791:98, in the world (Rome, July 2001), the first “fitness pizza” in the world (Rimini, June 2002) and, more recently, the first “integral antioxidant pizza” in the world (Rome, September 2005). Some results of the studies on pizza have been presented at the Second International Conference on Mediterranean Diet “MEDIET” (Athens, April 2005). Finally, he demonstrated the inflammatory properties of “San Marzano” tomato extracts on cultured endothelial cells (Free Radical Res Biol Med, 2004). The next July (2008) he will be invited speaker at the 6th Free Radical Seminar at Tokyo, in Japan.

Prof. Alfonso Cruz Jentoft is a specialist in Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology. Director of the Geriatric Unit of the Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal, Madrid, Spain. Director of the Geriatric Unit of Clínica Ruber, Madrid, Spain. Prof.  Alfonso Cruz Jentoft is the former secretary, board member and Internet Director of the Sociedad Española de Geriatría y Gerontología; and he is a representative of Spain in the Geriatric Section of the European Specialist Physicians Union (UEMS-GS). Prof. Alfonso Cruz Jentoft  is the Associate Editor of the Journal of Nutrition, Health and Aging and a member of the Editorial Board of several European and Spanish geriatric journals. Prof. Alfonso Cruz Jentoft is a member of the organizing committee of several Spanish and European Geriatric Congresses since 1991 (including two IAGG-ER congresses in Madrid and Barcelona, the 4^th Congress of the EUGMS in Geneva; and the future 2009 World Congress of Gerontology and Geriatrics, Paris), with 42 invited conferences and 67 abstracts accepted in national and international meetings. He is the project evaluator for the Spanish health research fund (Fondo de Investigaciones Sanitarias) and the Fundación Mapfre Medicina. And he is a lecturer in six Spanish Universities and director of several CPD national courses in geriatric medicine. Dr. Carlos Lima is a neurologist and neuropathologist at Lisbon’s Egaz Moniz Hospital. Lima obtained medical training in Portugal and Germany. In addition to olfactory-tissue physiology, he hás conducted several studies on the neuropathology of HIV infection and brain disorders similar to mad-cow disease. For more than 20 years he has studied the olfactory tissue’s unique neurological properties and has unwaveringly directed his research toward this goal, carrying out extensive studies in animals as well as human cadavers. He is co-inventor of the patent for the isolation of adult human neural progenitor/stem cells and the process and culture medium for their proliferation, differentiation and transplantation and he is the author of the first published study on olfactory mucosal autografts for human spinal cord injury.

Dr. Nuno Louro was born in Angola in 1973 and graduated in Medicine from the School of Medicine of the University of Oporto in 1997. He completed his training in Urology in 2007 and currently works at Hospital Geral de Santo António, in Oporto. He is an active member of the multidisciplinary team dealing with Sexual Medicine and Andrology in that institution. He holds a post-graduation degree in Sexual Medicine since 2003. He is also an invited Assistant of Urology in the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar (University of Oporto). He is a member of the Portuguese Association of Urology, Portuguese Society of Andrology, European Society of Urology and the Internationational Society of Sexual Medicine.

Maria João de Matos Leal Gonçalves Lupi,, M.A., B.A.,has a Master degree in Bioethics from the Faculty of Medicine in Lisbon; a Post-graduate degree in European Studies from the Catholic University in Lisbon; a Health-Care Management degree from the New University of Lisbon; and a Medical Law degree from the Faculty of Law in Coimbra together with a BA inFinance from the Technical University of Lisbon. From 1991 to 2002 she was the Chief Executive Officer of several Portuguese hospitals, including Hospital Santa Cruz, Hospital São Francisco Xavier, Hospital Curry Cabral and Hospital Santa Maria. She also collaborated in the implementation of the Commission for the Service of Treatment and Prevention of Drug Addiction, and was Vice- Chairman of the Health Informatics Service. She also worked with the Minister of Justice of the XV Government. Presently, she works in the Central Hospital of Occidental Lisbon, EPE in the areas of Clinical Research, Continuous and Integrated Care and Quality and she is a member of the teaching staff at the Catholic University in Lisbon where she teaches in the Healthcare Management Program offered by that university. Dr Lupi is a member of GenoSolutions advisory board as collaborating regularly with the executive management committee on medical and scientific issues.

Dr. Paulo Maló, DDS, graduated from the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Lisbon, in 1989. Dr. Maló is the President and CEO of the Maló Clinic Health Group, Maló Clinics, Maló Ceramics, Maló Education and Maló Consulting and is the developer of the “All-on-4 Surgical Concept “ and related products, as well as the developer of the Nobel Speedy® implant and other implant and prosthodontic related products. Teresa Manafaia has a degree in Exercise and Rehabilitation from the Faculty of Human Kinetics (FMH) of The Technical University of Lisbon, she is a Certified Sports Nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN), a Certified Personal Trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and a Certified Exercise Leader from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
Last March (2007) she was speaker in “Lifestyle Coaching – Health and Nutrition” for the Boston Consulting Group – Branch of Lisbon, Portugal; in 2005, she was a guest speaker at the FML (Lisbon’s Faculty of Medicine) participating in a special session on “Nutrition and Exercise for Weight Control” for the Nutrition graduation class with Pedro Marques-Vidal, MD, PhD; in November of 2003 she was invited as an international speaker for the International Seminar of Physical Activity for the Elderly (8h event with discussion time), Belén de Pará, Brazil; in 2002 she was guest speaker in the subject of Nutrition for the ACSM Certificate in Portugal and, since 1997, she’s been a regularly speaker at national fitness conventions, on topics related to Exercise and Health, such as “Exercise Prescription for the Elderly”, “Implementing a Weight Loss Program”, “Weight-training for beginners”, “Weight-Training for Today’s Women” and “Exercise and the Metabolic Syndrome”.

Prof Dr. Francesco Marotta graduated in 1981 from Medical School, Catania University, Italy with highest marks cum Laude, he spent a year as Fellow in Gastroenterology at the University of Chicago. From 1983 to 1986 he served as clinical and research Registrar in Gastroenterology at the University of Cape-Town, Groote Schuur Hospital. In 1986 he completed the Post-Graduate School in Gastroenterology, University of Catania, Italy with highest marks cum Laude. After selection by the Italian and Japanese Ministry of Education and following a Japanese Language Proficiency course at Tohoku University-Sendai, Japan, he entered the PhD course the University of Hirosaki, Japan, Dept of Surgery. At the end of the experimental studies (Superoxide anion generation and role of macrophage oxidative burst in several models of acute pancreatitis) granted a PhD as the only one obtained in the medical field in Japan by an italian after the post-war period. He was then granted a fellowship by the Japanese Science & Technology Ministry at the National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo, Japan where we worked till 1991. From 1991 to 1998 he was appointed as Chief Consultant in Gastroenterology, S. Anna Hospital, Como, Italy. From 1998 to date he works as Consultant at the Hepato-Gastroenterology Unit, S. Giuseppe Hosp., Milano, Italy. From 2005 he is the scientific director of GAIA foundation, a no profit Ministry-accredited organization dedicated to aging research. He is also appointed as Consulting Professor, WHO-affiliated Center for Biotechnology, Traditional Medicine Post-Graduate School, Dept. of Anatomy, University of Milano, and Consulting Professor of BioGerontology, Urology Dept., University of Pavia. He his Visiting Professor at major Japanese Institutions where he has extensively being lectured and cooperated in research projects over the past 15 years. Prof. Luc MONTAGNIER was born in 1932 in Chabris (France). After his medical and scientific studies in Paris, he became a fully appointed researcher in 1960 at the 'Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique'. He then spent three and half years in England in two laboratories of the Medical Research Council, first in Carshalton and then in Glasgow. In 1963, Luc Montagnier discovered with F.K. Sanders the first double-stranded RNA induced in the replication of a single-stranded RNA virus, demonstrating for the first time that RNA replicates as DNA via base pairing. In 1964, in Glasgow, with I. Mac Pherson, he discovered a new property of cancer cells, the growth in agar, which is now a routine technique in laboratories working on cell transformation and oncogenes. After his return to France, he ran a laboratory at the Institut Curie, Orsay, and then moved in 1972 to the Pasteur Institute to set up a new laboratory, the Viral Oncology Unit, under the Directorship of Jacques Monod. He worked there on oncogenic viruses and interferon biochemistry. With E. and J. de Maeyer, he made the first characterization of interferon messenger RNA by its translation into heterologous cells, opening the way for cloning the interferon genes.. In 1983, with J.C. Chermann and F. Barre-Sinoussi, he discovered the third human retrovirus (HIV-1) and contributed to show its etiologic role in AIDS in collaboration with his colleagues from Hospitals and Universities in Paris. In 1985, his team isolated the second human AIDS virus (HIV-2) from West African patients. Between 1986 and 2000, he has been supervising in his Research Unit the work of a group of distinguished collaborators on the complex mechanisms of AIDS pathogenesis. In 1991, his laboratory was the first to describe the high propensity of T4 and T8 lymphocytes from HIV individuals to die in short term culture by apoptosis and to emphasize the role of oxidative stress in this phenomenon. More recently, he has been involved in the search for infectious cofactors which could help sexual transmission of HIV and accelerate disease progression for HIV. Small microbes, such as mycoplasma, appear to be the best candidates for these AIDS aggravating factors. Prof.Luc MONTAGNIER has received the Prizes Rosen (1971), Gallien (1985), Korber (1986), Jeantet (1986), the Lasker Prize in Medicine (1986), the Gairdner Prize (1987), Santé Prize (1987), Japan Prize (1988), King Faisal Prize (1993), Amsterdam Foundation Prize (1994), Warren Alpert Prize (1998), Prince of Asturias Award (2000). He is Commandeur de l'Ordre National du Mérite (1986) and Commandeur de la Légion d'Honneur (1993). In 1993, Luc Montagnier created with Federico Mayor, former Director General of UNESCO, the World Foundation AIDS Research and Prevention of which he is the President. The Foundation has created the “Centre Intégré de Recherches Biocliniques d’Abidjan (CIRBA) in 1996 and the “Centre International de reference et de recherche “Chantal Biya”, on prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS in Cameroun. It is envisaged to implement such centre in Burkina Faso.

Dr Georges Mouton is an internationally renowned pioneer of Functional Medicine. Dr. Francisco Ibérico Nogueira, M.D., was born in Portugal (1951), and obtained his medical qualifications from the School of Medicine in Coimbra in 1976. Dr. Iberico Nogueira undertook postgraduate training in plastic surgery in Brazil, Rio da Janeiro, with famous surgeons including Ronaldo Pontes, Liacyr Ribeiro and Farid Hakme. Specialist in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery by the Brasilian Medical Association since 1983, currently works in Lisbon, at his own private clinic, Clinica Ibérico Nogueira, where he has dedicated the last 25 years, essentially to aesthetic surgery and where he has performed more than 5000 surgeries. Dr. Francisco García Pérez was born in Tenerife (Canary Island), graduated in Pharmacy in Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He got Ph.D. in the Faculty of Medicine of Universidad Complutense de Madrid with honors in 1966. He got Specialist Degree in Clinical Analysis for the Spanish National Health Service (Social Security) in Madrid (Spain) working almost two years for Spanish National Health Service. From 1966 to 1968 he became University Professor of Animal Physiology in Pharmacy Faculty of Universidad Complutense of Madrid. In 1972 he got Degree in Health for Health School of Madrid. Also in 1976 Dr. García-Pérez obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Medicine School of the Universidad Complutense of Madrid (Spain). From 1976 to 2000 Dr. García-Pérez has been University Professor of Human Physiology, Department of Physiology and Pharmacology in the Medicine Faculty at the Universidad de Alcalá, Spain. Dr. Michael Perring is a registered psychotherapist. He has read medicine at Cambridge and St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London. Professor Dr. Ivo Pitanguy graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro School of Medicine by the end of the 1940s. His career began when he participated in the selection of the Institute of International Education and was granted a scholarship to become a surgeon resident of Professor John Longacre at Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1948-1949. At the same time he attended the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and the plastic surgery department of Dr. John Marquis Converse, New York. Upon his return to Brazil in 1949, Professor Pitanguy acted as head of the surgery department at the 19ª infirmary of the Santa Casa General Hospital – the first service of hand surgery in South America. From 1950-1951, Professor Pitanguy resided in Paris as a visiting fellow - on the invitation by Marc Iselin, one of the pioneers of hand surgery and a reference in the assistance of mutilated patients in the Second World War. He also attended the plastic surgery services of Professor C. Dufourmentel, R. Mouly and Professor Paul Tessier, in Surèsnes. While still in Europe, through a scholarship granted by the British Council, Professor. Pitanguy had the opportunity to improve and increase his form as a plastic surgeon at the hands of two plastic surgeon masters, Sir Harold Gillies and Sir Archibald McIndoe.From 1952 – 1954 , Professor. Pitanguy worked as head of the Burn and Reconstructive Service of Souza Aguiar Hospital in Brazil. Due to his initiative and the obtained results, Dr. Pitanguy became recognized around the world and he was susbequently made a member of the National Academy of Medicine (for the first time, Plastic Surgery became represented at the National Academy of Medicine). In 1963 Dr. Pitanguy created the 38th infirmary as well as founding his own clinic with the view to linking it with the 38th former and with the post graduation course in plastic surgery. This pioneer structure allows the students not only to learn but to practice the specialty as well as to consult its scientific basis in the library of the clinic. From its foundation to the present day, over 50,000 patients have been operated on in the clinic. Professor. Borut Poljšak was born in Slovenia in 1976 and graduated from the College of Health Studies, University of Ljubljana in 1999. He obtained his title Doctor of Science in University of Nova Gorica in 2003. Since 2002 Borut Poljšak works in University of Ljubljana in College of Health Studies where he is Director of Laboratory for research on ageing and cooperates also with Biotechnical Faculty, Chair of biotechnology. Borut Poljšak develops detection methods of free radicals and other reactive species in cellular systems (Detection of hydrogen peroxide, Estimation of intracellular oxidation, Electron spin resonance, Fingerprinting methods, The induction of stress responses to oxidative stress, Determination of endogenous defense systems, etc.). António Rivotti graduated from the School of Medicine in Lisbon in 1983. He specialized in General Surgery in 1993. Dr. Graça Salcedo graduated from the School of Medicine in Porto (1979) and became a specialist in Clinical Biopathology at Hospital Santo António, 1987. Since then she has been responsible for the neuroendocrinology dept. (until 1991) and the Director of the private clinical laboratory ‘Endoclab’ in Porto. Under her supervision, Endoclab has collaborated in several national and international investigations, supporting Master and PhD laboratory work, and optimizing and implementing new methods. Cristina Sales, was born in 1956, she graduated from the School of Medicine in the Classic University of Lisbon in 1982. She specialized in Familiar Medicine in 1996 and has the degree of Consultant of Familiar Medicine. She is registered in the Portuguese Medical Order and possesses the title of Specialist on General and Familiar Medicine and has the medical competence in Acupuncture (2004). As a Family MD integrate the permanent group of the National Health Service from 1986 to 2006 in the ARS of O’Porto. Always interested on promoting the larger therapeutics approaches in preventive and healing medicine, specially directed for chronicle and degenerative diseases, she is constantly implementing her formation on multiple medical areas. Dr. Paula Sequeiros was born in Lisbon in 1960, and obtained her medical degree at Faculdade Ciências Médicas de Lisboa in 1984. She did two years training as general practitioner in Hospital Egas Moniz and Hospital de S. José, both central hospitals in Lisbon. Graduated in stomatology at Hospital Pulido Valente (Lisbon) in 1990 and subsequently graduated in maxilo-facial surgery at Hospital de S. José (Lisbon) in 1993. From 1984 to 1995 Paula practiced both at Public Hospitals and at her private clinic in Lisbon, to which she fully dedicated herself from then onwards. She has been focusing her practice in oral rehabilitation and dental aesthetics, having done extensive post-graduate training in those areas in Brazil, US and Spain. She is also actively involved on charity and community support projects as executive Board Member of a private Foundation in Portugal. Dr. Márquez-Serres, Ph.D.,M.D., was born in Barcelona, Spain in January 4th of 1956. He has received his M.D and PhD from the University of Seville, Spain. He is Board certified plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon at University of Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Perú. Upon completion of his plastic surgical training, he completed an Inter-European Master degree in surgical and medical Laser at University. Dr. Márquez-Serres was the founder and president of Centro Láser Quirúrgico Europeo. He belongs to the following societies: American Society of Plastic Surgery, member of honour of the French Society of Aesthetic Surgery, European Laser Association and he is President of the Spanish Society of Anti-aging and Longevity. Alicia Stanton, MD graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of NY at Buffalo Medical School in 1990. She became Board certified in Ob/Gyn in 1996 and was in private practice from 1994-2005. During that time, she became a Diplomat of the Board of Anti-Aging Medicine in 2004. She is currently completing a Fellowship in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. Dr. Stanton currently practices Anti-Aging and Functional Medicine in Hartford, CT, USA. She also serves as the Chief Medical Officer for BodyLogicMD. Professor Aw is a tenured Professor in Pathology at the National University of Singapore (NUS) medical school. He was the inaugural Chief, Department of Laboratory Medicine at the 957- bed National University Hospital (NUH) of the NUS medical school from 1988 to 2002. The Department of Lab Medicine at NUH is the first hospital in the Asia-Pacific to be accredited by the stringent College of American Pathologists (CAP) since 1994. Prof. Aw was the Vice-Dean of the NUS medical school from 1994 to 2002. He served as the Medical Director of the 400-bed Alexandra campus hospital of the NUS medical school from April 1995- January 2000.
After graduation from the University of Malaya Medical School, he trained in internal medicine at the Singapore General Hospital and King’s College Hospital & Medical School, London, UK. He underwent further training in chemical pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Philadelphia, USA from 1981-1984. He was specialist certifications in internal medicine from NUS and the Royal College of Physicians (U.K.) and in pathology from the Royal College of Pathologists of Australia. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) and the Academy of Medicine Singapore. In addition, he completed the first Harvard- NUS masters program in public policy. Prof Aw has published 112 professional articles (including 12 books/ book chapters on clinical chemistry, endocrinology, and health policy) and 275 abstracts.
Prof. Aw is the national coordinator for the International Atomic Energy Agency’s collaborative research projects on thyroid testing (1988-1991), hepatitis B testing (from 1991-1997), and tumor markers (from 1997-2000). He has been a member of the Medical Laboratory Board, Ministry of Health, Singapore from 1989-2003.
Prof. Aw co-founded a medical supplies company MedPro Thailand in 1998. He was a founding investor in Cygenix, an Australian listed life science company which owns CordLife, a Singapore cord blood bank. He founded StemLife, a Malaysian stem cell medicine in 2001 and serves as its CEO.

Prof. Dr Juan Sabater-Tobella, P.h. D., has a Master in Pharmacy-Biochemistry from the University of Barcelona (1959), with the qualification of Excellent cum laude” and winner of the “Extraordinary Prize” of that year. He has a Ph.D degree from the University of Barcelona (1964) with the grade of “Excellent cum laude”. This Ph.D thesis was awarded the “City of Barcelona Prize for Doctoral Theses”. Has the official title of “Specialist in Clinical Biochemistry”. Dr Juan Sabater-Tobella did postgraduate work in the Laboratories of the Hôpital Cantonal of Geneve (1961), Institut Pasteur (Paris) (1963), Boston Children’s Hospital and Montreal Children’s Hospital (1969) and Hôpital Debrousse de Lyon-CNRS (1973). In 1975 he was awarded the “City of Barcelona Prize o Research” for his work “Screening of Inborn Errors of Metabolism in 100,000 newborns of Catalonia”. From 1970 to 1976 he was Professor of Biochemistry in the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. And from 1970 to 1985 he was Director of the “Institute of Clinical Biochemistry” of the Province of Barcelona, a university center dedicated to research into the inborn errors of metabolism that cause mental handicap. Since 1985 he has full time dedicated to his own private laboratory (Sabater Tobella Análisis) organization with more than 20 centers, dedicated to Clinical Analyses (Hematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Cytogenetics and Molecular Biology) and analysis for the pharmaceutical industry (clinical trials, bioavailability of drugs etc). The group has one hundred and fifty people, among them some 30 with Master or PhD qualifications. He has Published 155 papers and presented 163 communications in national and international meetings and co-authored ten books. He has participated in 94 courses as guest lecturer. He has directed twelve Ph.D. theses. He is a Full Member of the Royal Academy of Pharmacy of Catalonia (limited to 50 members), and was President for ten years, also a Full Member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia (limited to 55 members) and Foreign Member of the National Academy of Pharmacy of Mexico and of the New York Academy of Sciences. Dr. Miguel Trincheiras was born in Lisbon (1962) and graduate as “Docteur en Médecine, Chirurgie et Accouchements” from the University of Liège, Belgium in 1986. He was “Assistant-student” in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the last 2 years of his studies. He came back to Portugal he started his training in Dermatology and Venereology in the Civilian Hospitals of Lisbon (HCL) and obtained his specialist grade in1996. Since the beginning of his dermatological career Dr. Trincheiras was especially interested in the dermatological surgery, lasers and dermocosmetics. Since, he has been responsible for the area of dermatologic surgery and cryosurgery for 4 years in Hospital do Desterro. From 2000 to 2006 he has been Director of the Service of Dermatology in Hospital Reynaldo dos Santos, V.F.Xira and, since that, dedicated to work in his private practice in Epilaser Clinic of Lisbon where he is head of the Dermocosmetic Department. He is also consultant Dermatologist in the medical group CUF-Lisbon, since 2003 and in Hospital Particular de Lisboa, since 2006. Dr. Trincheiras is also the clinical director of Cosmospectrum and Dexiderma Companies in Viszcaya, Spain, where he develops his activity in Dermocosmetics. He is member of many national and international dermatological and anti-aging societies and participated in many courses, meetings, workshops and congresses as assistant as well as speaker, and is author and co-author of many articles, especially in Aesthetic Dermatology. He collaborates regularly with laboratories for the formation of colleagues in the area of fillers, Botoxº and other cosmetic techniques.

Dr Trindade is a board certified family physician who has sub-specialized in Functional and Anti-Aging Medicine. She is a graduate of the fellowship in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. Dr Trindade is originally from Açores and speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish. Dr Trindade received her medical education in the United States, obtaining her BA from University of California Santa Cruz, her Masters in Public Health (MPH) from San Diego State University in the areas of Epidemiology and Environmental Health and her MD from University of California Davis. She attended a UC San Francisco Residency in Family Practice in Santa Rosa, California. As a faculty member of the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) and the UCSF/Santa Rosa Residency Program she is currently very active in developing teaching programs in Anti-Aging and Functional Medicine.

Dr Paulo Vale is the President of the APNUG- Portuguese Association of Neuro-Urology and Uro-ginecology since 2003 and the Portuguese delegate of the SINUG (Society Ibero-Americana of Neuro-urology and Uro-ginecology). He is a member of the AUA (the American Urological Association) and of EAU (European Urological Association). Dr. Paulo Vale graduated in Medicine in 1979 by the Faculty of Medicine of Porto. He is a consultant of Urology at the Hospital Garcia de Orta-Almadaand a fellow of the European Board of Urology. Dr. Paulo Vale is the author of several published articles and several communications at national meetings as well as international ones, with seven of his works having received awards. Dr. Paulo Vale organized and participated in several symposiums as moderator and lecturer. He is a pioneer in Portugal and the only doctor doing regularly with his team, the surgery of implant of neurostimulators for the micturition in patients para and tetraplegic. Dr. Paulo Vale is a member of de ICS (International Continence Society). He was member of the committee for the standardization of terminology in the neurogenic bladder. On the 1st and 2 International Consultation on Incontinence in 1998 and 2002 , co-sponsored by World Health Organization and ICS, Dr. Paulo Vale was member of the committee entitled “Promotion, Organization and Education in Continence Care” and “Surgical treatment of neurogenic bladder”. From 2001 to 2005 Dr Paulo Vale was the Treasurer of the Portuguese Association of Urology.

Margarida Vieira was born in 1970 in Portugal. She received her B.Sc. in Biochemistry, M.Sc. in Cellular Biology and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, all from the University of Coimbra (Portugal). She is currently the R&D Director of Crioestaminal and is involved in several research projects in the area of stem cells and molecular diagnostics. Mr. Wainright is the Founder and Chief Counselor for Haelan Research Foundation, a United States Government approved 501(c)(3) Public Foundation Mr. Wainright, an honors graduate of Tulane University, is an internationally known lecturer with 17 years experience in researching the prevention and treatment of cancer and other chronic diseases with soy phytochemicals. Mr. Wainright's research has received recognition by the National Cancer Institute (USA) and is currently being researched at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in the United States and several leading cancer centers in Europe. Mr. Wainright is collaborating with the Institute for Laboratory Medicine in Recklinghausen, Germany on reversing DNA damage in cancer cells with soy phytochemicals. He has designed and completed clinical trials in Asia, Europe and the United States showing the human health benefits of dietary soy phytochemicals. His research and experience with humans documents the benefits of soy therapy for estrogen receptor positive breast, prostate and other cancers. Mr. Wainright's research also addresses how the soy phytochemicals protect cancer patients from chemotherapy induced cell mutations, related toxicity, infections and anemia as well as enhanced cancer cell killing effectiveness 8-10 times greater than chemotherapy treatments by themselves.
